DON'T PLAY MUSIC...

BUT WISH YOU DID?

Save the date now to join us for our fourth annual Wanna Play? Experience! This day has been set aside for those who don't play music but wish they did.

(According to Gallop Poll, that's 85% of Non-Players!)

We're taking the intimidation and pressure out of the equation

and helping people play music just for the fun of it.

For the first time-or the first time in decades!

This Year's FREE Event Will Be Held on

Saturday, May 4th, 2013 from 10:00 to 4:00pm

You don’t have to be a musical genius to learn to play or sing your favorite songs.

It doesn’t matter what age you start at...
or how good or bad you think you are…
Everyone is musical!

You’ll get the chance to experience making music on the instrument
of your choice in a way you never thought possible.

Super special instrument and lesson packages will be available and the free, no obligation introduction to the unbelievably fun world of making music.

If you've ever felt vulnerable and out of your element visiting a music store, this is your opportunity to come and investigate music for yourself.

Music… it’s in you!
      Do you Wanna Play?

The Wanna Play? Experience 2010

On Saturday, May 8th we had our first Wanna Play Experience at The Candyman Strings & Things. We took delight in watching new faces flood the store, coming to experience music without the inhibitions generally experienced by visiting a music store, not knowing where to start. It was truly the day of the non-player!

What is The Wanna Play Experience? The Gallup Poll states that 82 percent of Americans who don't currently play an instrument wish they had learned to play one! The Wanna Play Campaign and Experience is for those that fall under this category. You can learn more about the program HERE!

We kicked offconjunction with our local radio station 98.1 KBAC Radio Free Santa Fe. A huge thanks to them for arranging for the Paella Party from LaBoca and the assortment of beer from Budweiser. We also had the pleasure of having The Sean Healen Band as entertainment! Check out our photos taken that evening.  the event by hosting a party on Friday evening in

We had several group participation activities and mini lessons available throughout the store such as a harp circle, a drum circle, an acoustic guitar circle, and a keyboard circle. We also had mini lessons in keyboard, drum, and guitar.

We also hosted a very popular Rock Band Test Drive. This was an assembly of band instruments set up in a rock band style. Drums, keyboards, guitar, bass and vocals. Peter Williams did an amazing job, teaching individuals a simple beat, chord, key or vocal and brought everyone together to play a song.

There were lots of activities with the band and orchestra instruments, and  performances from current students in our music education program.

We also opened up our Coca Cola beverage cooler at no charge to visitors. We had displays with tons of information on how beneficial music is, informational handouts on different instruments and free lesson coupons and informtion on all our studio teachers.

We had plenty of instruments available for visitors to get their hands on and play and lots our staff and teachers to helped them to do just that.

Enjoy the photos and videos of the day.
